Waves at DT Fleming Beach

More Photos to Come

With so many places on Maui that are great for taking photos, there could easily be twice as many photos available here than have been posted so far. The truth is that it's taking me quite a bit longer than I thought it would to go through and upload the best of the best here at Maui Wall Candy. What is here now is only the beginning.

Other Categories in the Works

If you don't see something here that you're looking for, have no fear. Below is a list of photo categories that I'm planning to add in the coming weeks as I get caught up.

Signs of the Times

We're always taking photos of the places we've been, including the signs. Everything from restaurant signs, hotel entrances, beaches and activies just to name a few. A great addition for your blog entries or scrapbook.

Colors of Maui

You can see from these photos that the colors of Maui are absolutely stunning. From luscious greens to bold blues and golden yellows, it feels like a natural work of art. Well, I've played around with a few of my photos to colorize them and isolating just a few colors in each. The bright yellow of a hibiscus flower in bloom, the playful colors of tropical drinks, you get the idea.

Waterfalls

Where are the waterfalls? I have them, don't worry. Shot from various trips along the Road to Hana as well as taken from high above via helicopter, I have my fair share of these giant treasures to offer.

Road to Hana

Speaking of the Road to Hana, I never come back from the all day drive with space left on my memory cards. From the Lava Tube at the Waianapanapa State Park to the Red Sand beach and Honomanu Bay, you'll be back on the winding road before you know it.

Whales

2008 was the first time in Maui that we were able to witness the whales as they were leaving the islands. It was breathtaking and my wife and I are longing for more. Our next trip is scheduled for February, so I plan on returning with dozens of whales while they entertain themselves and each other in the warm waters of Maui.

Haleakala?

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I have yet to visit the top of Haleakala for the spiritual sunrise that is so popular. I hope to change that as well on our next trip and expect to have at least a few good shots to share.

Got a Request?

I'll be the first to admit that I'm far from a professional photographer. Taking requests might be something of a stretch, but I do aim to please. If you know of a place on Maui that you don't see here (now or planned), there's a good chance I haven't been there yet. If it is as good as you tell me it is, I would be willing to check it out on a future trip. It doesn't hurt to ask, right?
